ePipes Drones presents a finely crafted collection of tunable, authentic-sounding drones for Scottish Highland, Border Pipes, and Smallpipes. Specifically designed for musicians learning to play the Scottish bagpipes, this application offers high-quality drone sets that enhance practice sessions with accompanying sounds.

The audio content is sourced from ePipes.co.uk, based in Glasgow, Scotland, utilizing extremely high-fidelity studio recordings of three distinguished instruments.

User interaction is straightforward. Tapping on the ePipes logo toggles the drones on and off. Musicians can select their preferred drone type via the dedicated drone selector, which includes options for Great Highland, Border, and Smallpipes.

Volume control is facilitated through a Drone Volume slider, while pitch adjustments can be made in semitone increments across a +/- one octave range using the Transpose slider. Additionally, the Tuning slider enables precise fine-tuning of the drone within a +/- 50 cent range, adjustable in one-cent increments.

To enhance sound quality, the Reverb slider allows users to modify the amount of reverb effect applied to their selections. Importantly, all custom settings are retained upon exiting the app and are automatically restored upon reopening.

The application also includes MIDI Chanter Test Features. Users can configure MIDI channels for both the chanter and drone channels. Any MIDI Note-On message note numbers received on those channels are displayed at the bottom of the screen. This feature aids in determining the MIDI offset value from 67 for the chanter in other MIDI-enabled applications that adhere to the Fagerstrom Technopipes standard, where MIDI note 67 (G3) serves as a zero offset reference point.
